All Things Spring 2024

Dear Readers,

I love this time of year! Sunset is later each evening, and you get that pre-taste of summer! The bright colors of Spring literally brighten my mood. 

The trucker hat-style game is certainly trending right now. Are you team trucker hat? Or no way, not in a million years? :) That’s the best part about style and women’s fashion—you can decide what you like to wear!

I wanted to create my own custom cap, and I fell in love with this design! My original inspiration looks like this, but I added my own twist to the cap. 

This is my version!

One of my goals this Lent was to deep clean my closet and purge my dresser drawers. This was so satisfying to do. I donated clothing to a local women’s shelter that doubles as a Thrift store. The first set of items I purged was old swimsuits…man was that way overdue. My young and fun 25-year-old body does not need to hang on to the swimsuits I have from HIGH SCHOOL…lol. Needless to say, they did not fit properly, but also - real talk, 90% of the swimwear I got rid of was not flattering on me. That is okay! Our bodies change, and that is a natural part of life. When I lounge by the pool this summer, I don’t want to be self-conscious about what I am wearing. 

So, out with the old and in with the new!

I took the time to really search and find modest, flattering swimwear that I will actually enjoy wearing this summer. Both suits are full coverage and fit me well. I appreciate that the high-waisted leopard bottoms do not look like an adult diaper—for me, with a short torso, that is very hard to find in high-waisted swimwear! I can adjust the straps on the black tankini, which is very handy. The floral one-piece suit fits very nicely, however, I wanted to be sure to point out that the straps are not adjustable on that particular suit.

I spent no more than $40 each on these swimsuits. Dear swimsuit designers - can you please start making affordable, modest swimwear that does not cost $100 for a SWIMSUIT… please and thanks!? It blows my mind how expensive “designer” swimwear can be. 

There you have it—Lady K is super ready to lounge and hang by the pool! Preferably with a cold beverage in my hand. :)
