Easter Craft Projects

Good morning,

Wow! What a reality check that we are quickly approaching Easter! February and March have flown by!

I personally do not have a lot of Spring and Easter decor, so I wanted to work on a few projects that would make the house feel Springy. I have quite the little green thumb project going on inside our house at each windowsill! I have started a planter box of wildflowers and grow-pots to start from seed: zinnias, cilantro, basil, and thyme! Fingers crossed, they all turn out well!

The Texas Panhandle’s ground temperatures are still too cold to really get started in our backyard garden beds. However, according to ground temperature data for Amarillo, I think I will be fairly safe to start planting a few things on April 7, 2024.

When do you plant your garden?

  • January - February

  • March - April

  • May - June

Have you heard any other wives' tales about Spring gardening and weather?

  • Once the mesquite trees bloom, you can begin gardening and work in your flower beds.

  • The weather on Easter Sunday will be the same for 7 Sundays.

  • If you kill a snake, hang it over a fence, and it will rain.

I also worked on a few crafty projects to get in the spirit of the season! I found these cute melamine egg plates and thought they would be perfect to “enhance” with my Cricut! I love the green gingham design on the plates. I added decals with the letter “B” to personalize them. They are versatile for use as a serving platter or propped up on an easel to decorate with.

I have seen several viral decoupage projects on Instagram—from seashells to champagne bottles and more! I had a dozen plastic Easter eggs and some fun Spring Napkins. By cutting the napkins into slivers, you have the perfect tissue paper for decoupage projects! I used matte Modge Podge and got to work covering the plastic eggs in the upcycled napkins. It took me less than 20 minutes to cover all the eggs, and they dried very quickly.

My final project involved painting two terracotta flower pots. They turned out SO cute! This is an easy and inexpensive way to brighten up your porch with a fun flower pot. Now I just need to decide what to plant in them!

Lady K’s One Thing:

Nothing says the Holidays and “Hostess with the Mostest” like an expertly set dining room table. I have so many fond memories of helping my Mom and Nana set the table for different events. If you are looking for unique and beautifully crafted table setting materials for EVERY season, look no further than Hester and Cook. This brand is also sold at B.Whimsy in Dalhart, TX!

Prayers for love and peace in your day,
