Gift Giving - Graduation Season Edition

Hello, Dear Readers,

I am over the moon excited to share this week's topic on Gift Giving! Have you ever participated in the “5 Love Languages” curriculum or quizzes? If not, I highly recommend completing your assessment, no matter what stage of life you are in. You can access that resource here: https://bit.ly/3GA4sAx

Without a shadow of a doubt, my love language is QUALITY TIME. I receive love by spending quality time with my people. There is a distinct difference in how we RECIEVE love and how we GIVE love to those around us. When I reflect on how I give love and pour it into my family and friends - the answer immediately rises to the surface = I find great joy in curating the most perfect, individualized gift to show how dear someone is to me. My mom definitely played a role in making gifts memorable, and she always carries around a “bag of tricks” for everyone to be included in the festivities.

There’s no better time than the present to discuss Graduation Season! Celebrating seniors/graduates is such a special milestone, and I feel especially blessed this May to honor multiple graduates and their accomplishments!

Let the Gifting Begin!

High School Senior Gift Ideas

*I have compiled a public list on Amazon of Graduation Gift Ideas - which most of this blog will follow and feature; you can view it here: https://amzn.to/3o8LwCz

PRO-TIP for High School Seniors - make an Amazon wish list with your most wanted/needed items. Your town/community will thank you for it! Your gift items can even get shipped to your house, and you can track what thank-you notes need to be completed.

  • Snow Guard or Frost Guard to protect their windshield from snow/ice, (see amazon link)

  • Kobalt Tire Air Compressor - air your tire anywhere and everywhere, (see amazon link)

  • Towing Cable - if ski trips are a favorite of your high school senior, a tow rope will certainly be handy for a trip to the mountains, (see amazon link)

  • File box with file folders to store important scholarship information, receipts, etc., (see amazon link)

  • Office Supplies in their college colors - Poppin is a personal brand favorite of mine, (see amazon link)

  • Faith Formation books, (see amazon link)

  • Gift Card to “hot spots” for students in their college town

(I’m really only familiar with the following College towns and have dined at/visited these locations to give these recommendations). These gift cards can be used beyond freshman year – please note that some recommendations will be more suitable for Sophomore/Junior students.

  • Lubbock, Texas - Chimy’s, The Funky Door, Midnight Shift, Triple J Chophouse, Capital Pizza, Sugar Browns Coffee Co., etc.

  • Stillwater, Oklahoma - Rancher’s Club in the Atherton Hotel, Eskimo Joes, Aspen Coffee, Miso, HTeaO, Smokin’ Joes Stilly, Iron Monk Brewing Company, etc.

  • Canyon, Texas - Joe Taco, Palace Coffee Company, Canyon Steak Company, or any Amarillo, TX, based stores/locations.

  • College Station, Texas - Fuego Tortilla Grill, Aggieland Outfitters, Dixie Chicken, etc.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student - Graduation Gift Ideas

  • Gift Certificate to have diploma framed; highly recommend the Right Angle in Amarillo - https://bit.ly/3KQhRHd

  • Lowes or Home Depot Gift Card, (see amazon link)

  • Shutterfly Gift Card to have canvas’ printed or a photo book made from their time in college, (see amazon link)

  • Jon Hart Boot Bag - checkout B. Whimsy https://bit.ly/3GzOW7U for all your custom Jon Hart Needs

  • Boot Jack, (see amazon link)

    • Another great gift is to add a custom vinyl sticker for personalization.

  • Blessed Is She Planner; amazing quality and comes in a variety of sizes – https://bit.ly/3zOETrF

  • Custom belt buckle

  • Have custom stationery made or an address stamp, (see amazon link)

  • Champagne with a custom sticker

    • Of course, a proper graduation celebration requires a toast. I love to add personalized stickers to wine/champagne bottles for a little extra creativity!

  • Commemorate their graduation with a brick permanently paved and installed on campus. Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University both offer this for alumni. (I imagine other universities/schools do as well).

  • You can never go wrong with a graduation gift basket! Add their favorite things to a gift basket, and you are sure to have the perfect gift!

Lady K’s One Thing:

My mom and aunt are insanely talented women who have owned and operated a boutique in Dalhart, Texas, for the past 19 years! Their store is having its 19th Anniversary Celebration this Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Dalhart, Texas - be sure to stop in for a great time!
