Homemade Pizza Crust Done Right

From the Kitchen of Lady K; adapted from Half Baked Harvest

Happy Tuesday, Y’all,

I’m already dreaming of lunch after my second cup; okay, fine 3rd cup of coffee this morning!

Brick Oven Pizza. Stone-Fired Pizza on the Grill. When you want the gourmet pizza experience at home without all the hassle… I bring you Easy-Peasy Homemade Pizza Crust Dough! Prepare the dough crust and throw it in the oven at home… Voila! You have it made!

Is anyone else still using up their abundance of basil and tomatoes from this summer? My tomatoes didn’t make it out the best this year, but we have basil to eat on for days. This recipe is a staple in our house, and I think you will love it too!

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet Instant Rapid Rise Yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ⅔ cup warm water

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Mike’s Hot Honey

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, yeast, and salt. Add in the warm water to activate the yeast, along with the olive oil and honey. Mix together with a wooden spoon. (You can use your KitchenAid Mixer with the dough hook attachment if desired).

  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Turn the dough out and prep it to be placed on the pizza pan. Using a rolling pin - roll your dough out to the desired thickness and shape. Use the dough crust with any pizza toppings of your choice. Enjoy!

TIPS:

  • You can build your pizza on the raw dough - no need to pre-cook it first.

  • We cook our pizza around 350 to 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes while checking for golden doneness on the crust.

  • To prevent your crust from drying out - lather the surface with olive oil before building your pizza with toppings.

Lady K’s One Thing:

You heard it in the recipe first - Mike’s Hot Honey IS IT. Forget ranch as the pizza staple; Mike’s Hot Honey is everything you didn’t know you needed. This honey is infused with chili peppers, and the combination perfectly pairs with pizza. Don’t knock it until you try it! Let me know what you think when you try it out with this recipe!

Chef’s Kiss of Perfection,

Lady K
