Good afternoon!

A fresh new kitchen recipe to try out this Spring! This would be perfect for an Easter brunch!

*This recipe requires a fed sourdough starter. I am happy to share sourdough starter with anyone in the Amarillo, TX, area.

Sourdough Dutch Baby Recipe

Sourced from: Farmhouse on Boone

Ingredients:

6 large eggs

2 cups sourdough starter

1/3 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey

6 tablespoons butter

Frozen Berry Medley (approximately 2 cups)

Garnish: Powdered Sugar and Whipped Cream

Equipment Needed: 10-inch Cast Iron Skillet

1) Preheat oven to 425.

2) In a large bowl or blender, add eggs, sourdough starter, milk, salt, vanilla, and honey. Whisk or blend until smooth.

3) Add butter to a 12-inch cast iron skillet and place it into the hot oven to melt.

4) Pour the batter over the melted butter and place it in the oven. *I often top this with a frozen berry medley and bake it altogether.

5) Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed up.

6) Serve right away with butter, fruit, or maple syrup.

Let me know if you try this recipe and enjoy it!

Lady K’s One Thing:

Hydration is difficult for me! I do not drink near enough water, but I have aimed to do much better. I am trying a new thing—drinking a mineral cocktail! This is easy to prepare and very affordable—no extra supplements are needed.

Mineral Cocktail

Ingredients:

Coconut Juice (Try to find 100% juice)

Lemon Juice

Coarse Sea Salt

*Orange juice is optional

Add ice to a 10-oz or 12-oz glass. Combine 8 oz of coconut juice, the squeeze of 2 lemons (1-2 tablespoons), and top with ⅛ teaspoon coarse sea salt. You can add a splash of orange juice based on your taste preferences. Stir well and enjoy! Hydrating and filled with good nutrients, which will fill your cup rather than deplete it!

Sending you good vibes to finish your Thursday strong!

Ever faithfully,
