Spring Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello, May - bring on the Summer Fever!

What a beautiful month! May brings us Mother’s Day as we celebrate the momma’s/mom figures in our lives. May is also known as the month to honor our Most Holy Mother - Mary, the Mother of Christ and the Mother of our Church. And hopefully, with enough prayers and petitions, May will bring rain to those who need it most! (Thank you, Jesus, for the recent rain showers in the Texas Panhandle!)

After a quick Google search - the month of May also brings us:

  • National No Pants Day - May 5th

  • National Sleepover Day - May 9th

  • National Dance Like a Chicken Day - May 14th

  • National Cooler Day - May 26th

So, yes, I am a big fan of the month of May - especially when Spring Showers Bring May Flowers! Earlier in April, we had the opportunity to celebrate my mom with a birthday brunch and a very special Buds & Bubbly event led by Brooke Walterscheid with Cultivating Kindness! If your love language is fresh flowers - send your husband/significant other/person Brooke’s contact right now! She goes above and beyond to bring you the flowers of your dreams. From wedding flowers, centerpieces, or special events - she has got you covered with her acute eye for design! Brooke offers a special Buds and Bubbly Event - where you get your closest ‘buds’ together as she leads you through a floral design class. Her classes are customizable to meet the needs of your group. Be sure to give her a follow and check out her work here: https://bit.ly/3LMdygz | @cultivating.kindness_

Here are photos of our Buds and Bubbly Event with Cultivating Kindness!

Seeing the talented Cultivating Kindness owner, Brooke, in action was so much fun! She makes the class fun for all, while encouraging unique designs/creative freedom when designing your arrangement!

As we begin a new month, I wanted to share ideas to make May a special season this Spring!

May Celebration ldeas:

  • Host brunch for mom’s in your life (friends, grandparents, mom, mom-like figures).

  • See my attachment for an Easy Mimosa Recipe (Momosa) :) From the Kitchen of Thedra R.

  • Throw a Cinco De Mayo Party.

  • Write a note to the special women in your life who mean the world to you.

  • Honor our Mother Mary by praying a daily or weekly rosary.

  • Celebrate the life of special loved ones by visiting the cemetery and placing flowers or a wreath at their headstone.

Easy Mimosa Recipe (Momosa) - From the Kitchen of Thedra R.

Items Needed:

  • Silicone Ice Tray in your desired shape - hearts, flowers, etc.

  • Orange Juice

  • Champagne or Prosecco

  1. Using your ice mold, fill the mold with orange juice and pop it in the freezer. You will want to freeze the orange juice 48 hours in advance of serving your mimosas. Chill your bottle of champagne or prosecco.

  2. Pop the frozen ice cubes out of the mold and place them in a ziploc bag and stick the cubes in your freezer.

  3. When ready to serve - pull out your desired drinking glasses - add in 2-3 frozen orange juice cubes to your glass. Top your glass with champagne/prosecco - toast and enjoy!

Lady K’s One Thing:

The Little Catholic online store for beautiful jewelry, faith-based home decor, and so much more! My husband gifted me the Miraculous Medal and Crucifix Necklace 2 Christmases ago, and it is a daily staple for my jewelry collection. This store specializes in handmade pieces that are designed to last and will not tarnish. I do sometimes get knots in the dainty chain, but other than that, polish your necklace with a lint-free cloth, and you will have a piece to last you a long time! If you need a gift idea for your Mom/expecting friends/treat yourself/first communion or confirmation gift - be sure to check out their store!

Your friend,

Lady K
